RLEF board of directors about Rugby League U19 European Championship

Latest meeting of the RLEF board of directors  was held in London on February 25. One of the points on the extensive agenda was Rugby League U19 European Championship.  First of all, the President of the organizing committee and member of the RLEF board Blagoje Stoiljkovic reported on preparations for the eight-nation European U19 tournament, which kicks off on 5 August in Belgrade.  After that the board adopted tender document for organization of the future events. Also a timetable up to 2024 was  adopted, which will ensure that hosts are known three years before each tournament. In the future Rugby League U19 European championships will be held every two years. The next will be 2020, 2022 and 2024… It was agreed that more qualifications matches will be played in the future. It is known that the eight-placed team from this year will play in the qualifications process for RLU19EC 2020, together with defeated from this year’s qualification match Italy vs Ukraine and Lebanon.
